Revised: 11th August 2024

1. Introduction of Yokohama

Yokohama is a vibrant and bustling city located in the Kanagawa Prefecture of Japan, just south of Tokyo. As one of the country’s major port cities, Yokohama has a rich history and a diverse cultural scene. Actually, if I have free time and go outside alone or with a friend of mine, I prefer going to Yokohama to Tokyo. When I visit Yokohama, I feel like,,, I’m not sure how I can say,,, but, it feels like exotic, it doesn’t like in Japan. Yokohama makes me visit some outside countries like European countries. That’s why Yokohama is my most favorite city in Japan.

The city’s waterfront area, known as Minato Mirai 21, is a modern and cosmopolitan district featuring iconic landmarks such as the Landmark Tower and the Yokohama Cosmo Clock 21. This waterfront area offers a blend of shopping, entertainment, and stunning views of the Yokohama Bay.

Here is a museum of one of a ship in Japan. Historically, Yokohama is known for trade with foreign countries. Once you visit Yokohama, you can enjoy to visit a ship museum and get historical information of trade in Japan.

2. Yokohama Chinatown

Yokohama is also renowned for its Chinatown, which is one of the largest in the world. Visitors can explore vibrant streets filled with Chinese restaurants, shops, and cultural events. The area is a melting pot of Chinese architecture, cuisine, and traditions.

Here is one of a chinese restaurant I went with a friend of mine to have a lunch. The restaurant is Shigoroku-kaikan(ๅ››ไบ”ๅ…ญ่œ้คจ๏ผ‰.

Next time, I’ll introduce some Chinese cuisine which is my favorite. Anyway, if you visit Yokohama, don’t miss it to have Chinese cuisines.

3. Yokohama Red Brick House

The city also houses the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, a symbol of Yokohama’s history as a major trading port.

There are many kinds of souvenirs in this brick house. They are clothes, foods, cosmetics, decorations and etc… I was super happy to buy some souvenirs.

Also, regularly, this house is holding many kinds of events. That’s one reasons that many people select to visit Yokohama in order to reflesh.

In conclusion, Yokohama is famous for its diverse culinary scene, offering a wide range of Japanese and international cuisines. The city hosts various festivals and events throughout the year, showcasing its cultural richness and creativity.

Thus, Yokohama is a dynamic city that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity, making it a must-visit destination for those exploring the Greater Tokyo Area.
