At the same time, there are many kinds of trains especially in Tokyo, Kanto regions so, it’s super complicated to select trains to visit your destination. In this chapter, I’d like to introduce trains in Tokyo, Kanto region, especially, I’ll focus on JR Lines. LET’S GET STARTED!!!

4. Utsunomiya Line, Takasaki Line, Tokaido Line (Ueno Tokyo and Shonan Shinjyuku Line)

This train which is characterized orange and green is very complicated because the name is different depending on the route. If this train is from Takasaki, Gunma prefecture and goes through Tokyo, Kawasaki Kanagawa prefecture, it’s called Takasaki line from Takasaki to Ueno. And it’s called Tokaido line from Tokyo to Odawara Kanagawa prefecture where is the final destination of this train. If this train is from Utsunomiya Tochigi prefecture and goes through Shinjyuku and to Zushi Kanagawa prefecture, it’s called Utsunomiya Line from Utsunomiya to Shinjyuku. And it’s called Yokosuka line to Zushi.

The name of Ueno Tokyo line and Shonan Shinjyuku line shows the connection. The former I mentioned last paragraph is Ueno Tokyo line and the latter is Shonan Shinjyuku line.

Please be careful. When you search your destination, please select correct one. I know many passenger choose wrong line.
