Have you ever been to Shinjyuku? I mentioned Tokyo station’s chapter in this month. In Tokyo, the city center is 23 wards of Tokyo. The Tokyo station, Marunouchi is located of east side of ward and this city, Shinjyuku is west side of wards of city center. In this chapter, I’ll introduce three parts of Shinjyuku.

1. Shinjyuku Kabukicho Tower
Shinjyuku is very interesting city. First, Shinjyuku is the city political city. There is a prefectural capital location at Shinjyuku so it’s is very important position of Tokyo. Also, Shinjyuku is known as entertainment district. One of the most interesting spot is Kabukicho city. There are several kinds of Izakaya and Hotel. Some of them are illegal so when you visit Kabukicho, be careful to select your destination to have your dinner.
I wanna show you the outstanding entertainment spot. It’s Kabukicho Tower. (In my memory, It’s not there during undergraduate.)
Here is the inside of Shinjyuku. This floor is foods floor. There are many kinds of Izakaya. This floor has not only Japanese foods like Kyusyu cuisine, Hokkaido cuisine but also Chinese foods. Very interesting floor. So If you have severe problem to decide dinner, I recommend you to visit Kabukicho Tower to go into your first step in order to try Japanese foods or Asian foods.
Also, there are game center in this tower. Game center is also one of Japanese sub-culture I think. Once you are addicted to game center, you can’t stop to pay for games… (In my case, I’m not good at playing games but, I’m always addicted to playing game so, I spend a lot of money to play games…)
This Tokyo Matrix looks like so fun. i didn’t play this game but, it’s collaborated with Sword Art Online. This game is experimental game so, I’m a Otaku of Sword Art Online. Next time, I’ll try to play this game!!!
2. Shin Okubo: a Korean Town
Next town is Shin-Okubo town.
Shin-Okubo is famous as the biggest Korean town in Japan. As you go to a small street in this town, there are many Korean restaurant .
You can enjoy to have authentic Korean foods because shop’ clerks are Korean. I always choose Shin-Okubo because I don’t have enough money to trip in Korea. Instead, I go to Shin-Okubo to feel authentic atmosphere.

3. Takadanobaba: an Asian Town and a Ramen Street
The final town I really wanna introduce for my readers is Takadanobaba.
Takadanobaba is also known as exotic town, because many people from all over the world especially south east Asian countries.
This picture is one of the Vietnamese restaurant in Takadanobaba. Once you go to a main street in Takadanobaba, you can see Chinese, Indian, Thai foods shop.
Takadanobaba is also famous for RAMEN SHOPS!!! It’s known as a competition town of Ramen in Japan. When you take a walk like 5 minutes, you definitely see Ramen shop. Of course, there are many kinds of Ramen shops so you can explore to find out your most favorite taste of Ramen.
I visited this Ramen shop after my job. It’s called Takaryu. This shop is an expert of Salty taste of Ramen. Due to completing my job, I don’t want to have heavy foods but wanna have a ramen. So, I chose Salty taste ramen with extra sliced onion. Actually, it was closed hour when I visited but the supervisor was so kind that he opened this shop for customers.

That’s all my presentation of Shinjyuku. It’s very interesting city to enjoy amusement, exotic foods and Ramen. All of things are culture in Japan!
