Do you practice religion?
Japan is interesting country. Generally speaking, people in Japan don’t believe specific religion. (It depends on families, actually. My mother is a buddist.)
However, every cities are holding seasonal events such as New Year and Christmas events. Even if people are not Christian, they go to Christmas market and spend a day with their partner. Even if people are not Buddist, they go to a shrine on New Year’Day to make a fortune.
So interesting isn’t it?
In my opinion, of course, Japanese people tend not to believe specific religion but, we have a Shinto Spirit.
When you go to a sightseeing spot, you definitely see budda statues. Also, you might hear from a tour guide, โThe god is coming to this beautiful placeโ. โThis tree has a power to call to the godโ
It’s typical notion of Shinto. The God is coming to all things. Since long long ago, Japanese people have had that philosophy.
That’s why Japanese people have the spirit naturally. They enjoy to join seasonal events. At the same time, they visit to shrine and pray for own good things.
