Next day of Singapore, we moved to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I really really wanted to visit South East Asian countries especially Vietnam.
The reason why we chose Vietnam was join a Mekong Delta Tour. To search on the Internet, most of information were official tour company and the price was so expensive. A friend of mine told me that, I just went to get on a taxi and asked him about tour. That was so reasonable and easy.
Anyway, without correct information, it was hard to look for it, so I’m gonna show you how to join the tour.

1. My Tho
After arriving at Ho Chi Minh City and checking in at a hotel, we moved to My Tho. It’s located on south area of Vietnam and it takes about 1 hour and half to 2 hours by a taxi. First, you have to go to My Tho.
Then, we moved to river side. There is a big car pool for tourists. Beside there, there is a tourist center for Mekong river. Here is for individual tourist like us. When we arrived here, it was around 3 pm. We didn’t have enough time so, a conductor gave us a 1 hour tour.
If you join an official site’s tour, it will take more than 3 hours and a half day. And it’s also expensive. To make a plan more flexible, you are better to go there directly.
2. Mekong Delta Tour

We got on a small boat and moved to an island.
When we went through to the entrance…
We had a honey. They gave us a glass of hot honey and small snack. They made original honey so very sweet! We didn’t buy honey for souvenir but if you want, you can buy it.
We followed a tour conductor and we rode on a horse.
Hopefully, the weather was so brilliant!
He brought us to a small cafe.
We had a lot of fruits and saw Vietnemese ladies performance.
Anyway, I can’t experience in Japan so everything were fresh.
After taking a luncheon, we joined the main dish, Mekong River Tour finally!
So huge river and tropical plants…
That was!!!!
I don’t remember. I think it took about 15 – 20 minutes on the river. It was so special experience.
Total tour time was actually 1 hour but, we felt more than 3 hours. I strongly recommend you to join the Mekong river tour when you visit Ho Chi Minh City!
3. Took a walk in Ho chi minh city center.
On us way to a restaurant, we took a walk. It was so energetic. A beep of bike. Many native people and tourist enjoyed. Singapore had beautiful night view and show. But, instead, I think due to the character of Vietnemese, all of city were so brilliant.
4. Dinner: Secret Garden
Here is secret garden. They offer typical Vietnemese cuisines and cocktail. I thought compared to other restaurants in Vietnam, it was overpriced. Most of customer were from other countries. (There were another Japanese business customers on next our table.) That’s why it was a little bit expensive.
But we used about only JPY 10,000 = VND 1670000! Anyway so reasonable!
5. Conclusion
Totally, Ho chi minh city was energetic and people were so kind.
At a cafe in My Tho, we didn’t know how to go to a tourist center of Mekong river. So, we asked a staff how to get there. There was a barrier of language but, using a smartphone, she told us. A conductor was also kind. When we arrived at a river side, she firstly talked to us and made a plan of the tour.
Vietnam has a lot of sightseeing spots so I wanna visit again. Next, maybe Hanoi or Hoian.
