1. A New-Style Sushi Bar from Canada โ Right in the Heart of Shibuya!

KINKA Sushi Bar, originally from Canada, brings a whole new twist to the traditional sushi experience. Unlike the classic sushi restaurants you might imagine, KINKA offers a modern, stylish, and vibrant dining atmosphere that immediately feels unique and international. The interior is sleek and contemporary, blending Japanese minimalism with chic Western design โ perfect for photos and a relaxing night out. Itโs a refreshing take on sushi culture, where you can enjoy high-quality seafood in a casual yet elegant space. Whether youโre a sushi lover or a first-timer, this place makes Japanese cuisine feel accessible and fun, without compromising authenticity. Itโs not just a meal โ itโs a full dining experience that reflects the global spirit of Shibuya.
2. English-Speaking Staff โ A Rare Gem in Japan!

One of the best things about KINKA Sushi Bar is the staff โ they speak fluent English! This is surprisingly rare in Japan, and it truly makes the dining experience smoother and more comfortable for international visitors. Fun fact: Iโm Japanese, but because I was taking so many photos, the staff thought I was a foreign tourist! Whatโs even more impressive is how they explain each dish โ sushi, sashimi, even seasonal specials โ all in detailed English, just like a fine dining restaurant. Itโs not just about ordering food; itโs about understanding the ingredients, flavors, and how everything is prepared. This level of service is something youโd expect at high-end establishments, yet KINKA delivers it in a warm and approachable way.
3. What Should You Order? Must-Try Recommendations!

If youโre planning to visit, I highly recommend booking a course menu in advance. Not only does it offer great value, but itโs also the best way to experience KINKAโs signature dishes. From their famous aburi (seared) sushi to fresh sashimi and unique seasonal creations, the course covers all the highlights. Of course, if you prefer ร la carte, you can still enjoy traditional sushi, aburi specialties, and even some fusion-style bites. But honestly, the course menu saves you the trouble of deciding and ensures you get the full KINKA experience. Whether you’re a foodie or just curious, youโll leave satisfied.

4. So, Is It Worth Visiting? My Honest Opinion.

If Iโm being honest, Iโd rate it a solid 7 out of 10. The sushi is fresh and tasty, but the price is a bit high considering the portion size. As a local, I know there are other places where you could get better value for money. However, KINKA isnโt trying to compete with traditional local sushi spots โ itโs designed for tourists who want a friendly, stylish, and English-friendly introduction to Japanese sushi culture. And in that sense, it delivers perfectly. If itโs your first sushi experience in Japan, KINKA is a fantastic starting point. Itโs a place that combines global hospitality with local flavors โ and thatโs something truly special.
