I genuinely want to work out. Like, not just a light stretch or a short walk, but real, intense exercise. The kind that makes you sweat, struggle, and actually feel your body changing. I want to get stronger, build muscle, and feel proud of my body. Every time I make a to-do list, I confidently write something like “hard workout” or “intense training,” as if this time will be different.
But somehow… it almost never happens.
Most days, work gets in the way. I come home tired, both physically and mentally, and my motivation disappears the moment I sit down. I tell myself, “I worked hard today, I deserve rest,” and honestly, that excuse feels very convincing at the time. Other days, I’m just sleepy. I think, “I’ll wake up early and do it tomorrow,” and then I choose sleep without hesitation.
There are also days when time just slips away. I plan to work out before dinner, but then I realize I’m starving. I eat first, thinking I’ll exercise after. But once I’m full, my body suddenly feels heavy, and the idea of moving feels impossible. Before I know it, the night is over, and the workout quietly disappears from my plan.
What’s funny is that I still keep writing it on my to-do list, even though I know the pattern. Maybe it’s not about discipline yet. Maybe it’s just a reminder that I haven’t given up on the idea of becoming stronger. Even if I keep postponing it, the desire is still there, waiting for the right timing—or maybe the right mindset.
For now, “hard exercise” stays on my to-do list, unfinished. But who knows. Maybe one day, it won’t just be a plan. It’ll be something I actually do.
